Burdur 9th Agriculture and Livestock Fair opened its doors to visitors. While all institutions and organizations in the city supported the fair held at Burdur Closed Market Place, technologies for farm equipment for large and small livestock, the latest innovations in the genetic field, and developments in the feed sector were also showcased. The fair was attended by the President of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture Şemsi Bayraktar, Burdur Governor Türker Öksüz, Burdur Mayor Ali Orkun Ercengiz, Rector of MAKÜ Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, President of Burdur Chamber of Agriculture Kemal Kubilay, President of Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yusuf Keyik, President of Burdur Commodity Exchange Ömer Faruk Gündüzalp, union and chamber presidents, and citizens. At the opening of the fair, President of Burdur Chamber of Agriculture Kemal Kubilay, President of the Commodity Exchange Ömer Faruk Gündüzalp, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yusuf Keyik, Mayor Ali Orkun Ercengiz, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, President of the Union of Chambers of Agriculture Şemsi Bayraktar, and Governor Türker Öksüz each made a speech wishing the fair success for Burdur and our country. Pioneering Steps in Dairy Farming and Embryo Transfer from MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar mentioned the university's work and projects in the field of agriculture and livestock in his speech. Rector Dalgar stated in his speech that the university has specialized in livestock for 5 years, and in these 5 years, they have visited 180 villages and Veterinary Faculty members have given informative lectures, in addition to being the first and only university approved by the Turkish Accreditation Agency in the certification program for dairy cattle farms. Speaking about the Embryo Transfer Center, Rector Dalgar mentioned that MAKÜ is one of the two institutions in Turkey authorized for embryo transfer and they produce domestic embryos. Rector Dalgar also explained the farm monitoring system, saying, "Our farm certification system project has become a policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry." He pointed out that water scarcity is a problem in the country and mentioned that the university's professors are working on producing plants that consume less water. After the speeches, the stands were visited at the fair following the ribbon cutting ceremony.
