MAKÜ 100th Year Concert Received Great Acclaim

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Turkish Music State Conservatory, Music Culture Application and Research Center Academic Orchestra organized a special concert for the 100th Anniversary of our Republic. "From May 1919 Liberation to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic: A Musical Journey" themed concert took place at MAKÜ Conference and Exhibition Hall. Burdur Republic Prosecutor Osman Kara, Justice Commission President Musa Talih, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and his team, academicians, students, and the people of Burdur attended the concert. The Music Culture Application and Research Center Academic Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Dr. Zeki Nacakçı, accompanied the concert. Folk songs and dance performances in chamber music format received great acclaim from the audience. Especially the songs "Awaken" composed by Prof. Dr. Zeki Nacakçı, dedicated to Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and "Battle" composed by Prof. Dr. Alaattin Canbay, received great applause. Along with the successful performance of the orchestra, the rich heritage of Turkish music and important works of the Republic era were presented to the audience. In the event where a musical feast was experienced, the musical traces of the past 100 years since the establishment of our Republic were conveyed to the audience by taking a journey into the depths of Turkish music. Reflecting a cultural accumulation and artistic value, the concert once again highlighted the importance that Burdur gives to its musical vitality and artistic activities. Additionally, for the first time, feedback was obtained from the audience through a QR code application at the concert.
