"The Program 'Sevdan Olmasaydı' Enchanted with Its Cultural Riches"

The program titled "Sevdan Olmasaydı", jointly prepared by the 3rd year students of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Faculty of Science and Literature and the 2nd year students of the Music Department of the State Conservatory of Turkish Music, organized by the Directorate of the Turkish Folklore Application and Research Center of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), was carried out with great enthusiasm. The performances of the students of the Folk Dances Department added a separate color to the program.
Dr. Hakan Acar, Director of the Turkish Folklore Application and Research Center, said in his speech at the event: "As the Directorate of the Turkish Folklore Application and Research Center, we bring our students together and work to carry our tradition we have taken from the past to the future within the scope of Turkish folklore and folk knowledge. We aim to live and keep alive the ancient Turkish culture, to introduce our students to the rituals, practices, beliefs, folk dances and our music that are tied to our tradition, to work with them to keep this culture alive and to present a visual feast in your presence. Thus, we take it as our duty to pass these values on to future generations."
Throughout the program, folk dance performances from every region of Anatolia and a Turkish Folk Music concert were presented. These events provided enjoyable moments for the audience and received great appreciation. The magnificent performances resulting from the dedicated efforts of the students received full marks from the participants. The program once again demonstrated how rich and diverse our cultural values are.
