We Are Working To Offer Our Students A More Livable Campus Environment
Yapılış Tarihi | 11 October 2023, Wednesday
Our efforts to create a more livable and student-friendly campus environment for our students are continuing intensively.
Within the scope of a protocol signed between our university and the State Hydraulic Works in recent years, the campus road works, which were committed to be constructed by DSİ, have been largely completed. The Bituminous Asphalt poured on the road, which consists of two lanes, 18 meters wide and approximately 2 km long, was completed as of yesterday and the road was opened to traffic. After the asphalt purchased by the DSİ contractor from our Burdur Municipality was poured by the municipal teams, works are being carried out rapidly to complete the infrastructure, pavement, and water channel processes between the lanes, which were tendered by our university.
When the road works are fully completed, all rainwater on the road will be collected in the pond located within the campus through the channels and culverts created. Additionally, by collecting the roof waters of all buildings around the pond in this area, a beautiful recreation area will be created within the campus. Simultaneously with these works, the tender for the pond and recreation area project has also been completed and the work has been delivered. With the completion of the works, a distinguished venue, where our students can spend enjoyable time during their free time, including walking and open sports areas, a cafeteria, and a viewing terrace, will be brought to our university. When the works are fully completed, our university's İstiklal Campus will become a much more livable, student-friendly, and environmentally friendly campus.
We thank our students and staff for their patience and understanding in the face of problems that occasionally arise due to the disruptions during the completion process of the road and other works. We also extend our thanks to the relevant ministries that supported our projects prepared to offer a more beautiful campus environment to our students, to our former rector and administration who provided this important gain to our university with the protocol made in the past period, to our deputies, to our DSİ regional directorate, and to the employees of our university, our municipality, and the contractor firms who worked hard in the construction works.
