According to the results of TÜBİTAK's 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program for the 2024/1 period, a total of 184 projects prepared by MAKÜ students were entitled to receive support.
Last year, MAKÜ achieved significant success with 108 projects, and this period, by showing a 70% increase, broke its own record. Especially the fact that 34 projects were prepared by vocational school students reveals how much the university has embraced the research culture at different academic levels.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, in his post on social media, congratulated the students on this success and said:
“We encourage our associate and undergraduate students to conduct scientific research; we make intense efforts for them to gain project development and scientific thinking skills. The support received by 34 projects prepared by our vocational school students is a separate source of pride for us. I wholeheartedly congratulate our students and advisor academicians who contributed to this meaningful success.”
This period, the applications made to the TÜBİTAK 2209-A program also showed a remarkable increase. A total of 472 applications were made from MAKÜ, while this number was 266 in the previous period and only 72 in the period before that. The increasing interest and success reveal that the university's research ecosystem is growing steadily.
Within the scope of the program, MAKÜ ranked 20th nationwide among 206 state and foundation universities according to the number of applications, and 31st according to the number of supported projects. These data show that our university has further strengthened its place in scientific production and has turned into a research base for students.
