'Let You Also Have a Tree Planted' event provides a meaningful contribution to nature

As part of the events organized to raise awareness due to Tourism Week, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Tourism signed a meaningful organization drawing attention to environmental awareness. The tree planting event organized with the slogan ‘Sizin de Dikili Bir Ağacınız Olsun’ was held in the area across from the faculty building.

In the event organized to contribute to nature, spread the understanding of sustainable tourism, and take a step for a greener future, participants brought saplings together with the soil. The event both reinforced the meaning of Tourism Week and gave a strong message about environmental sensitivity within the university community.

Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr. Murat Yeşiltaş, in his speech at the event, emphasized that tourism carries not only a promotional but also a protective responsibility, saying, “Today, we are not just planting saplings; we are also growing our environmental awareness and leaving a green mark for the future.”

Vice Rectors also participated in the event, emphasizing that the university assumes a pioneering mission in environmental sustainability. At the end of the event, participants took a commemorative photo together, immortalizing their support for nature on this meaningful day.

Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner, and Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, as well as the academic and administrative staff of the Faculty of Tourism and many students, participated in the event.
