Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) achieved significant success by being ranked among the best universities in Asia in the 2025 Asia University Rankings published by Times Higher Education (THE). In the evaluation conducted by THE, one of the world's leading higher education ranking organizations, MAKÜ was positioned in the 601+ band in the overall Asia ranking.
The university scored between 13.6-28.2 under the general performance category. MAKÜ received a notable score of 32.9 particularly in the “Research Quality” category, and scored 18.7 in “Industry Income,” 23.6 in “International Outlook,” 11.5 in “Research Environment,” and 18.8 in “Teaching.” These data indicate that the university has made significant progress both academically and internationally.
Among 111 universities in Turkey, MAKÜ was placed in the 34+ band, achieving significant success at the national level as well. This result shows that the investments made by the university in critical areas such as scientific research, teaching quality, and industry collaboration have borne fruit.
This success of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University also contributes to making the Turkish higher education system more visible on the international stage.
