Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) continues to make significant contributions to both practical education and regional development with its successful work in the field of sports tourism.

Uninterrupted service for sports tourism

Lavanta Tepesi Hotel, Spa & Camp Center offers quality service to athletes and teams throughout the year with its expert staff. Our center, which hosts many important sports events during the January-April period, increases its sports activities even more starting from May.

Sports tourism accelerates from May

In May, Football, Squash, and Drone tournaments will be organized within the Turkey University Sports Federation at MAKÜ facilities. With the football camp season starting in June, Super League teams and international football clubs will stay at our university.

Hosting international events

MAKÜ will host the European Universities Table Tennis Tournament in September. A meticulous study is being conducted for the September-December period in cooperation with the Tourism Facilities Coordination and the Sports Sciences and Athlete Training Application Research Center.

MAKÜ students are strengthened with practical education

The sports events organized at our university provide an important practical education opportunity for our students. While students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences take part in event operations and athlete support services, students of the Faculty of Tourism gain experience in accommodation and event management. Thus, students are well-prepared for their careers after graduation.

Promotion of Burdur and regional development with sports tourism

Thanks to MAKÜ's sports tourism activities, domestic and foreign tourists discover the historical, natural, and cultural beauties of Burdur with city tours. These events also support economic development by increasing the region's tourism activity.
