'Certificates were awarded in the Burdur International Trade Ambassadors Program'

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), in collaboration with Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BUTSO) and Bucak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized a certificate ceremony in the university senate hall for participants who successfully completed the training process within the scope of the Burdur International Trade Ambassadors Program (BUTEP'25).
50 students and company representatives who participated in the program successfully completed their training processes and qualified to receive certificates.
In the opening and evaluation speech at the ceremony, Burdur Development Center Director Dr. Lecturer Batuhan Medetoğlu emphasized that the main aim of the program is to create a network focused on international trade between the university and the local business world. Medetoğlu stated that participants received both theoretical and practical training on topics such as international trade documents, foreign trade negotiations, commercial financing, and noted that visits to companies were an important part of this process.
Foreign students as Burdur’s global ambassadors
Speaking at the ceremony, Bucak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly President Süleyman Duran highlighted the importance of the program especially for foreign students, stating that these students maintain their ties with Turkey after graduation and play the role of ambassadors in the international promotion of Burdur. Duran said, "Foreign students at the university become voluntary representatives of Burdur. It makes us happy when they embrace our companies when we meet them abroad."
This program should be an example for other universities
Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Yusuf Keyik stated that the foundation of the BUTEP’25 program was laid at a meeting held in February 2025. Keyik emphasized that this program is not only an education but also an employment gateway for students and a strategic tool for export. He said, “A product that you cannot market or promote has no meaning. Such efforts will increase our exports and contribute to the development of our companies.”
The contribution of our university to the city should be felt in every area
In the closing speech of the program, MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that as a university, they have responsibilities not only academically but also in terms of economic and cultural development. Dalgar said, “The increase and diversification of our international students will help Burdur establish stronger ties with the world. Thanks to this program, our industrialists will also start thinking globally.” Dalgar also mentioned that the university was actively promoted at fairs held in countries like Indonesia and Tunisia and that their internationalization goals are being pursued with determination.
At the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, along with university administration, Burdur, Bucak, and Gölhisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry officials, company representatives, academicians, and participants of the International Trade Ambassadors Program were present. The program concluded with the presentation of certificates to the students and company representatives who qualified to receive them.
