The advisory board meeting of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Mehmet Akif Ersoy Application and Research Center was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The activities carried out by the center were evaluated and goals and projects for the upcoming period were discussed at the meeting.
The meeting, chaired by MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and attended by Center Director Dr. Lecturer İbrahim Öztürkçü, included board members from our country's distinguished science, art, and culture world: Prof. (hc) Uğur Derman, Beşir Ayvazoğlu, Prof. Dr. Durmuş Günay, Mehmet Rüyan Soydan, Ramazan Minder, Vice Rector and also a member of the center's board Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, and again a member of the center's board Dr. Lecturer Hakan Acar.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the valuable ideas expressed in the advisory board would be guiding for the university, saying, “The appreciation of our veteran professors for the work at our university honored us and also increased our responsibility.” Rector Dalgar emphasized that they will continue to work to convey Mehmet Akif Ersoy's ideas and legacy to future generations through both scientific and cultural studies.
After the advisory board meeting, participants had the opportunity to see the historical and cultural beauties of Burdur on-site. As part of the organized tours, Sagalassos Ancient City, İnsuyu Cave, Kibyra Ancient City, and Burdur city center were visited, introducing the rich historical texture of the city.
