In the opening speech of the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Ali Alp Sağlam touched upon the deep-rooted history of dental education in Turkey. Sağlam, who stated that the foundations of the profession were laid with the establishment of the Dental School on November 22, 1908, noted that today the profession has reached a broad structure with 105 faculties and 132 ADSM, and reminded that a total of 43,200 dentists are working in the country.
Sağlam expressed that although the number of dentists per 100,000 people in Turkey is below the European Union average, this gap will close in the coming years. Drawing attention to the rapid increase in the number of students, Sağlam emphasized the importance of quality education and preventive dentistry. He stated that they will continue their efforts to increase the habit of going to the dentist in society and congratulated all his colleagues on November 22, Turkish Dentistry Day.

Addressing the students' families and participants, Tekşen expressed his pleasure in experiencing this special moment together and wished the students success in their professional lives.
