MAKÜ Culinary Program students were selected as the "Best University Team of the Year" at GASTRO ANTALYA 2025.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Burdur Food Agriculture and Livestock Vocational School Culinary Program students achieved great success at the GASTRO ANTALYA 2025 Gastronomy and Culinary Stars Meeting, one of the most prestigious events in the world of gastronomy.

In the international organization, which was held for the 6th time this year and hosted more than 4,000 participants from over 20 countries, MAKÜ students proudly represented both MAKÜ and Burdur with the medals they won.

Under the guidance of Lect. Muhammed Haykır and Lect. Yunus Baygül, the students, who were meticulously prepared, returned from the competitions with degrees thanks to their outstanding performance in different categories.

Gold medal in the Best University Team of the Year Competition

The team consisting of Culinary Program students Arda Bacalıkaya, Taha Sarı, and Beren Nur Demir achieved first place in the Best University Team of the Year Competition, one of the most prestigious categories of the organization, and won the gold medal. This significant achievement stood out as a strong example of team harmony, creativity, and professional kitchen discipline.

Medals also came in individual categories

In addition to the team success in the international competition, there was also great pride in individual fields.

• - Beren Nur Demir won a gold medal in the Student Chef Restaurant Dessert category for University Level Schools.
• - Büşra Arık achieved significant success by winning a gold medal in the Pizza Competition category for University Level Schools.
• - Taha Sarı crowned his successful performance by winning a silver medal in the Student Chef Main Course Competition category for University Level Schools.

With their passion for culinary arts, disciplined work, and the guidance of their advisory lecturers, MAKÜ students, who attracted attention on the international stage, brought great pride.
