Application for Student Amnesty Under Law No. 7592

Details regarding applications have been presented below in accordance with the implementation principles of the Temporary Article 85 added to the Higher Education Law No. 2547 by the 14th article of the Law on Amendments to the Higher Education Law and Some Laws, which came into force by being published in the Official Gazette No. 33335 dated 09.08.2026.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Students who have been dismissed for any reason from all classes including preparatory classes, associate degree, bachelor's degree completion, undergraduate, and graduate studies at our university, as well as those who have gained the right to register in our university programs but have never registered, will be able to apply.

WHO CANNOT APPLY?

Those convicted of terrorism under the Anti-Terror Law No. 3713 dated 12.04.1991, intentional homicide crimes under the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 dated 26.09.2004 (articles 81, 82, and 83), torture (articles 94 and 95), maltreatment (article 96), sexual assault (article 102), sexual exploitation of children (article 103), and production and trafficking of narcotic or stimulant substances (article 188), those whose registration has been canceled due to false documents, those who provided false documents during registration, those whose affiliation has been severed due to membership, affiliation, or connection with structures, formations, or groups determined by the National Security Council to be engaged in activities against the national security of the state, cannot apply.

APPLICATION PERIOD AND APPLICATION PLACE

Applications will be made online through the amnesty application system until 09.12.2026.

•  - Those who apply by 14.09.2026 will be granted the right to continue their education in the relevant program starting from the Fall semester of the 2026-2027 academic year,

•  - Those who apply after 11.09.2026 will be granted the right to continue their education in the relevant program starting from the Spring semester of the 2026-2027 academic year.
•  

Important Note: Students who will start their education in the spring semester of the 2026-2027 academic year will be considered on leave during the fall semester.

Situation of Foreign Language Preparatory Class Students: Students whose registration has been canceled while in the foreign language preparatory class, those who do not meet the foreign language requirement, or those who have been required to take foreign language preparatory education later in their programs and apply to continue their education will primarily be required to pass the foreign language preparatory class. If students do not meet the qualification criteria specified in the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Foreign Language and Preparatory Class Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation, they will be subjected to an exemption exam to be held at the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year since the preparatory class education is annual. Detailed information regarding the foreign language proficiency exam can be accessed from the web page of our university's School of Foreign Languages.

Military Status: Those who are serving their military duty at the time this law comes into force will be able to benefit from this law if they apply to our university within 2 months following their discharge.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION 

1. For application to associate and undergraduate programs: 

•  - Criminal Record Certificate (can be obtained via e-government) 
•  
•  - OSYS Placement Document (Students who have been placed in associate and undergraduate programs but have never registered before are required to upload this.) 
•  
•  - Military status document for those who are serving their military duty
•  

2. For application to graduate programs:

•  - Criminal Record Certificate (can be obtained via e-government)
•  
•  - Diploma or Graduation Certificate (can be obtained via e-government - Bachelor's Diploma for Master's, Master's diploma for Doctorate and Proficiency in Art)

•  - Military status document for those who are serving their military duty
•  

EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS AND REGISTRATION PROCESSES

Applications of candidates with complete application documents will be evaluated. The evaluation will be discussed and decided in the Unit Management Boards, taking into account whether the application conditions are met, the courses and semesters for which the student will be responsible, and other relevant matters.

ADAPTATION PROVISIONS

•  - All students who gain the right to register are subject to the provisions of the applicable regulations and directives of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University.
•  
•  - The adaptations of all students who gain the right to register will be made according to the active curriculum being conducted in the relevant program. 
•  
•  - Adaptation processes will be evaluated by the relevant commissions of the units and decided by the unit management boards. 
•  

REGISTRATION FOR COURSES AND STARTING CLASSES

Our students whose adaptation processes are completed can follow their current status by logging into the Student Information System (ÖBS) through the address https://net.mehmetakif.edu.tr/welcome.
