MAKU Physiotherapy Consultancy Center Will Serve All Citizens

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU) is setting another precedent. Health counseling services are starting within the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at MAKU. Now, the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences opens its doors to all clients who want to receive physical therapy and rehabilitation services from Burdur and surrounding provinces, even from all over Turkey. Citizens who want to receive physiotherapy and rehabilitation services can apply to the Faculty of Health Sciences located at MAKU's Istiklal Campus.

This service, which will be provided by expert physiotherapists, is the first of its kind to be offered within a university in Burdur. Associate Professor Dr. Murat Tomruk, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences at MAKU, made a statement on the subject, saying: “We are setting a precedent in our province of Burdur and starting a health counseling service within our university, we are opening our physiotherapy counseling center to the service of our people. As the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences, we are proud and happy to bring to life a center where citizens who need physiotherapy can consult, and learn what needs to be done for a healthier life, in addition to training competent physiotherapists in our field for our province of Burdur, surrounding provinces and all over Turkey.

Based on the motto of "From Universal Knowledge to Social Contribution" adopted by our university, we are opening a meeting center where our citizens can benefit from the knowledge, experience, and skills of our expert staff consisting of associate professors and doctorate faculty members for their own health. Thus, we are bringing our university and our people together. In our counseling center, we plan to provide services such as physiotherapy, manual therapy, massage, pain management, personalized exercise, personalized Pilates, and athlete health in the first stage. Our goal is to contribute to public health by increasing the quality of life and functional levels of individuals. Another goal is to ensure that our students receive a quality practical education. Our university is a university that attaches great importance to practical education. Our goal here is to enable our students to work as competent, equipped staff in the field as soon as they graduate and thus to be more preferred by the business world. We also desire this center to be a practice field for our students.
