Rector Dalgar Attended the Meeting on Increasing International Visibility in Higher Education

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar attended the meeting on "Increasing International Visibility in Higher Education" in Ankara.

On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, and R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Yasin Arslan attended the meeting on "Increasing International Visibility in Higher Education" held at Hacettepe University Tunçalp Özgen Congress and Culture Center under the chairmanship of Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.

At the meeting, issues on what can be done to increase the visibility of Turkish Higher Education in rankings such as THE, QS, ARWU were discussed. The rectors and vice rectors of METU, ITU, and Sabancı University, which stand out in global rankings, shared their experiences on topics such as Ranking Systems: Methodologies and Processes, Big Data and Sustainability-Focused Studies, Research Management, Academic Reputation Management and Recognition, and Evaluations and Roadmap. The meeting, where how university ranking systems work and good practice examples were explained, step by step showed how research management, institutional data management, annual performance evaluation practices, and open science activities affect these rankings. At the meeting, Higher Education Council President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, who encouraged universities to share information with each other on this issue, emphasized the importance of making qualified publications for universities to be more visible in global rankings.
