MAKÜ Underwater Community Conducted Training Dive in Antalya Kaş

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Underwater Sports and Mountaineering Club (MAKÜ-SAT) conducted the first dive of the new term on November 5-6, 2023, in the Antalya/Kaş region. Within the scope of the first event of the term, 20 students received CMAS 1 Star scuba diving training.

During the training process, the participating students received the CMAS 1 Star certificate, which allows them to dive up to 18 meters, after two days of underwater and surface training.

During the training, dives were conducted at various underwater locations where ships, tanks, planes, and natural formations were submerged to draw attention to underwater life. Additionally, photos of underwater creatures and wrecks were taken. The importance of protecting underwater fauna and the significance of the seas were emphasized during the training.

The club's student president, Şule Balcı, stated after the event; “I would like to thank the university administration, the health culture and sports department, our club instructor, and our academic advisor for providing us with these opportunities and their support.”
