In Edirne this year, the 662nd Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling's başpehlivan was Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences student Yusuf Can Zeybek.

In the 662nd Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling held in Edirne on July 7-9, MAKÜ student Yusuf Can Zeybek won the Başpehlivan title by defeating İsmail Balaban in the final.

MAKÜ, which raises talented and successful athletes in various fields with its strong infrastructure, was once again proud of the success of Faculty of Sports Sciences student Yusuf Can Zeybek.

The golden belt of Zeybek, who emerged as the başpehlivan from Er Meydanı, was presented by the Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who congratulated MAKÜ student Yusuf Can Zeybek for winning the Başpehlivan title, said; “Our university's Faculty of Sports Sciences student Yusuf Can Zeybek, who has undertaken the mission of raising talented athletes for the country's sports with its strong infrastructure, became the Başpehlivan in the 662nd Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling.
