Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi (MAKÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences and Burdur Provincial Health Directorate organized an event for the disabled.

Due to the 10-16 May Disability Week, the event held in the garden of Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational School was attended by MAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca, Burdur Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Seyit Güven Yılmaz, Burdur Provincial Health Directorate Public Health Services President and President of the Disabled Association Specialist Dr. Ayla Kılıç, Provincial Director of Social Services Mehmet Şimşek, MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences Vice Dean Assoc. Dr. Oğuzhan Dalkıran, National Education Branch Manager Sami Zorbaş, Yörük Culture Ambassador Halil İbrahim Ölmez, President of Burdur Yörük Culture Research Association Alaeddin Kalkan, Principal of Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational Training Center Keziban Atagündüz, school principals, teachers, students, and parents attended.

In the event organized due to the 10-16 May Disability Week, after the bicycle riding lessons given to children with special needs under the supervision of MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences faculty member Assoc. Dr. Elif Top, which lasted approximately 10 weeks, disabled students who rode bicycles enjoyed themselves with various activities such as table tennis, basketball, badminton, orienteering, pilates, step, dodgeball, and jump rope in the school garden.

In the event supported by the music recital of Burdur Fine Arts High School students, a tent specific to Yörüks and many local products were also exhibited by the Burdur Yörükler Culture Research and Survival Association. In the event where goat tulum cheese and ayran produced at the MAKÜ farm were also tasted, ice cream made with goat milk was also offered to the participants.

At the end of the program, disabled students and participants enjoyed the music events organized by Burdur Fine Arts High School students to the fullest.

Visit from MAKÜ to Bucak İsmail Şerife Sarı Care and Rehabilitation Center

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Barrier-Free Access Community visited Bucak İsmail Şerife Sarı Care and Rehabilitation Center within the scope of 10-16 May Disability Week.

Barrier-Free Access Community Academic Advisor and Disabled Student Unit Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Gülsüm Korkut and Coordinator Assistant Lecturer Esra Elif Ceyhan attended the visit.

During the visit, studies to be carried out for students in cooperation with MAKÜ and the Care and Rehabilitation Center were discussed, and ideas were exchanged about the events to be held.
