Acting Rector Acar Visited the Dental Hospital and Celebrated Nurses Week

As part of the Nursing Week celebrated every year between May 12-18,
MAKÜ Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Acar visited the nurses working at Burdur
Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Oral and Dental Health Hospital, which
started accepting patients today, and celebrated their day.
Last month, the licensing process was completed by the Ministry of Health and
after the protocol signed with the Social Security Institution, MAKÜ Oral and
Dental Health Hospital, which started accepting patients today, was visited by
Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Acar, who conducted inspections at the hospital.
Acting Rector Acar was accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Dean
of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Ali Alp Sağlam, and Secretary General Ali
Nihat Gündüzalp.
Visiting the nurses working at MAKÜ Oral and Dental Health Hospital and
celebrating their day, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Acar stated that as in
all times, in recent years, during disasters and calamities experienced at
global and national levels, health services are among the services that need to
be maintained first and uninterruptedly everywhere and under all conditions,
saying, “Nurses are the biggest practitioners of health services. Nurses are
the guarantee that the public receives the health care they deserve. Nurses are
the key health workers in overcoming global health problems, accessing and
improving global health, for healthier societies, a developing economy, and
strong nations. Today, you performed your first duties at the MAKÜ Oral and
Dental Health Hospital, which we have newly brought to Burdur. I am sure that
you will achieve great work in our hospital, which started accepting patients
on such a special day for you. On the occasion of Nursing Week, I celebrate the
Nursing Week of your colleagues who lost their lives due to the earthquake, our
students who are the future nurses, and all our nurses.”
Later, a cake cutting ceremony was held in memory of the day with the
nurses working at MAKÜ Oral and Dental Health Hospital.
