MAKÜ, Established a Soup Kitchen in the Earthquake Zone Hatay

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) offers soup and meals to earthquake victims with the Soup Kitchen it established in Hatay, one of our provinces most affected by the earthquake.

After the two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş and also affecting Hatay, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) took action to heal the wounds and started offering soup and meals to earthquake victims with the Soup Kitchen it established in Hatay Antakya. The Soup Kitchen staff began preparing and distributing meals to be offered to earthquake victims by working intensively throughout the day.

Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar also went to the earthquake zone and offered soup to the earthquake victims at the soup kitchen.

Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz stated in his speech; “Dear MAKÜ Family, my professors, administrative staff, our students, student families, we are in Hatay Antakya. We have activated our Soup Kitchen. We started distributing our soups as of the morning hours. There is a great need here. We will provide hot soup in the mornings and lunch and dinner to the drivers bringing services and materials here, the aid teams, and the earthquake victims who have to stay in their vehicles. As a member and supporter of MAKÜ, please do not withhold your support for this campaign we have started. Our friends worked here from night to morning and started serving our soups in the morning. I thank you all in advance for your support and help. May God bless you, may God protect our State and Nation.”

MAKÜ Soup Kitchen is located at "Güzelburç Mahallesi E-5 Karayolu Caddesi 36/A İl Jandarma Komutanlığı Karşısı Antakya / HATAY.
