MAKÜ Sports Infrastructure Football Players Visit Rector Korkmaz

Burdur MAKÜ Spor, U14-U15-U16 teams' youth football players visited Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz in his office. At the visit, MAKÜ Spor Club President Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Mustafa Kılınç and youth coaches Serkan Çevik and Alperen Pak were present.

One of the youth technical managers, Serkan Çevik, stated during the visit; “For about 7 years, thanks to our Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, we have established a serious infrastructure. Today, we have 60 licensed football players in all age categories. We are not only training football players for MAKÜ Spor but also trying to raise young people who are worthy of Akif's name and carry this responsibility. While doing this, we are trying to raise successful young people both academically and athletically without compromising their lessons. We thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, who has mobilized all his resources for all the financial and moral support he has provided so far.” he said.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Rector Korkmaz said in his speech, “I have been proudly following the growth and development of the infrastructure from yesterday to today. The development of sports in Burdur primarily depends on good infrastructure education. When we say let's make Burdur the capital of sports, it is not only about creating facilities that do not exist in Turkey but also about guiding our successful young people who will make Burdur's name heard on every platform, starting from the sports high school and benefiting from the facilities, and bringing them to our Faculty of Sports Sciences and raising more qualified athletes from here. I also congratulate our young people who are exemplary with their regular training and disciplined behavior regardless of time. In sports, scores and trophies are limited. The main thing is the continuation of this understanding that carries out both academic and athletic development together. I also thank our youth coaches.” he said.

The U14 team, which won the cup in the finals of the Amateur Sports Clubs Federation Regional League, presented the cup they won to Rector Korkmaz. Rector Korkmaz, in return, presented the visitors with the İstiklal Agenda and Safahat as gifts.

Maküspor lower group captains also presented flowers to Rector Adem Korkmaz, thanking him for the support, understanding, interest, and the opportunities provided by the University to the youth of Burdur.
