The Spor Toto Ümitler Turkey Judo Championship organized by the Turkish Judo Federation in Osmaniye has been completed. The competitions, which started on January 27 at Tosyalı Indoor Sports Hall and were attended by a total of 917 athletes from 67 provinces, saw athletes sweating to achieve rankings and be selected for the national team.
In the tournaments held, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Sports Club Student Sena Nur Büyük managed to win a medal. Burdur Maküspor’s Sena Nur Büyük became the 2nd in Turkey in the women's 48 kg category at the Ümitler Turkey Judo Championship. Sena Nur Büyük, who managed to become the 2nd in Turkey on the first day of the three-day competitions, also earned the right to join the national team.
After the success achieved, Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, who congratulated Maküspor Club student Sena Nur Büyük, said; “We have started to reap the fruits of the support we give to Burdur's young athletes on a national scale. As Maküspor, we support every branch of sports. Burdur Maküspor’s Sena Nur became the 2nd in Turkey in the women's 48 kg category on the first day of the Ümitler Turkey Judo Championship. I congratulate our athlete and their coaches Süleyman Görken and Türkan Görken.”
Visit from the Successful Athlete to Rector Korkmaz
Maküspor’s Sena Nur Büyük, who became the 2nd in Turkey at the Spor Toto Ümitler Turkey Judo Championship, visited Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz in his office along with her coaches Süleyman Görken and Türkan Görken. During the visit, which was also attended by Rector Advisor Dr. Lecturer Mustafa Kılınç, Rector Korkmaz congratulated the successful athlete and presented a gift.
The successful athlete Sena Nur Büyük also thanked Rector Korkmaz for the interest and support shown to her.
