Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences Emergency Aid and Disaster Management (AYAY) Department organized a Science Festival.
At the festival held at the MAKÜ Conference and Exhibition Hall, Burdur Municipality Fire Department Chief Mehmet Ali Ballak, Burdur Red Crescent President MAKÜ Faculty of Health Sciences Dr. Lecturer Murat Kuş, MAKÜ Vocational School of Health Services Director Assoc. Dr. Mümin Polat, Bucak School of Health faculty member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zeki Yıldırım and many students attended.
At the Science Festival, where poster presentations were also made in the corridors of the MAKÜ Conference and Exhibition Hall, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zeki Yıldırım and Assoc. Dr. Mümin Polat gave speeches.
Prof. Dr. Yıldırım stated that Burdur is in the AFAD region, therefore AYAY students need to train themselves better and increase their recognition.
Assoc. Dr. Polat also said in his speech; “In a country so full of disasters, the MAKÜ AYAY department is one of the strongest departments in the country in terms of infrastructure and academic strength. Our MAKÜ AYAY graduates should introduce themselves well, jump to wherever there is a disaster, go there and participate in the relief efforts there. There is a great need for qualified personnel in the field of emergency aid and disaster. As MAKÜ AYAY graduates, you can partially fill this gap.” He used expressions.
After the speeches, 8 groups of students from the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department made scientific presentations on disaster and emergency aid.
The event ended with a concert by the MAKÜSTİK group organized by the MAKÜ Acoustic Arts Community.
