Yayın Tarihi | 01 August 2025, Friday
The 'Family Academy' program, organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, Women's Issues Application and Research Center, Development Center, and Promotion Coordination, started as of August 1.
The program, launched to create awareness and provide supportive education for families, the fundamental building block of society, will be held every Friday from 14.00-16.00 at the Development Center until September 5. Topics such as psychodrama, positive family communication, psychological resilience, cultural change and family roles, communication with children, and creative drama workshops will be addressed in the events. All events will be open to the public and free of charge.
Speaking at the opening of the program, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Director of the Women's Issues Application and Research Center, Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar, stated that the declaration of 2025 as the "Year of the Family" by the Presidency offers an important opportunity to highlight the place and importance of the family in society.
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Çakar said, “The family is a fundamental social structure where the individual can exist, and where love and trust are built. However, today, digitalization, fast-paced life, and social issues can weaken this structure. Therefore, we need programs that will contribute to strengthening family communication, reinforcing intergenerational bonds, and carrying out family roles healthily.”
Emphasizing that they conduct scientifically based and practical studies to meet this need as a university, Prof. Dr. Savi Çakar stated that they have previously addressed family and women-focused issues through conferences, seminars, and workshops; and that the Family Academy is an important part of these efforts.
At the end of her speech, Prof. Dr. Çakar thanked the academics who contributed to the program, the participants, and MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who supported the process.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who spoke at the opening, wished for the success of the Family Academy and highlighted the importance of the family institution for both the individual and society.
Throughout the six-week program, it is aimed to contribute to both the individual development of the participants and their family relationships. Certificates will also be given to participants at the end of the programs.
