The theatrical folk dance performance, which was another part of the program held at Altındağ Millet Bahçesi, met with art lovers at the Ankara State Painting and Sculpture Museum Türk Ocağı Hall.
The work titled "Korkma!" prepared by the academicians and students of MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory brought the spirit of the National Struggle period to the stage. The performance, focusing on the process during which the National Anthem was penned, appeared before the audience as a powerful performance depicting Mehmet Akif Ersoy's inner world through music, dance, and body language. The event began with a recital prepared from Mehmet Akif Ersoy's works by the orchestra consisting of conservatory artists. Speaking before the performance, Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan, a faculty member of the Turkish Music Department of MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory, who undertook the scriptwriting and choreography of the work, expressed that they aimed to narrate a nation's struggle for existence on stage. Turan stated that the work centered on the challenging conditions under which the National Anthem was written and brought Mehmet Akif Ersoy's emotional world to the stage with a contemporary interpretation.
In the performance, which was based more on movement and body language than words; the resistance growing in Anatolia starting from the spirit of Çanakkale, the Kuvâ-yı Milliye process, and the independence struggle won with the establishment of a regular army were processed with symbolic expression. It was reported that the decor, costumes, and accessories in the work, which was the product of a preparation process lasting approximately six months, were also prepared by the students.
The night was attended by Burdur Governor Tülay Baydar Bilgihan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ahmet Gümen, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, and Ankara Chamber of Commerce President Mustafa Deryal, primarily the Burdur Protocol and many guests.
