The Rector of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, met with the Disabled Student Unit Commission, disabled students and staff at a dinner meeting on the occasion of December 3rd World Disabled Day.

At the meeting, Rector Dalgar, who stated that finding solutions to the problems of students and staff with special needs is at the forefront of the issues they care about as a barrier-free university, listened to their problems and requests by meeting with the students one-on-one and chatted with them. Rector Dalgar, who emphasized that such meetings and togetherness are important in creating awareness, said: "I am very happy to be with you. Our valuable students with special needs always have a special place for us and our university will mobilize all the resources of our state for you to receive your education in the best way, do not doubt it. You are entrusted to us by this nation, the state. We see it primarily in this way and your special needs are not just your problem, it is a responsibility of this society. Therefore, please do not hesitate to request whatever is necessary for you to complete your education in the best way. Our coordinator teacher Elif is also eager and concerned about this issue at our university. This unit may not have been very active until today, but from now on I want to meet with you more often and listen to you more. I wish you all success. Our university loves you. We will do our best to make you comfortable and tolerate the difficulties you face due to these special needs. Please be comfortable about this. Do not hesitate to convey your requests to us. Never feel excluded. This would upset us a lot, I must first mention this. In our eyes, you are always like our children and siblings. I am grateful to my teachers who contribute to the coordination related to your special situations in these units today."
