TÜBİTAK supports were evaluated with broad participation at MAKÜ

Speaking at the opening of the program, Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Ömer Çatal shared the purpose and scope of the seminar with the participants, emphasizing that they aim to contribute to the research activities conducted at the university.

 

Supporting 184 Student Projects is the Highest Acceptance Rate in University History

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, in his speech, conveyed the successes achieved by the university in the field of R&D in recent years and the strategies supporting these successes. Gürsoy mentioned new practices that reward academic performance, stating that motivation is increased with certificates of achievement given to the leaders of supported projects and faculty members who publish in high-impact journals. He also noted that for the first time this year, research assistants were included in the incentive system.

 

Gürsoy, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the sense of belonging to the university, also touched upon the gown-wearing ceremony organized for new research and teaching assistants. Highlighting the research incentives for students in his speech, Gürsoy stated that 184 student projects were supported under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A and 2209-B programs, emphasizing that this is the highest acceptance rate in the university's history.

 

Gürsoy: “Our Main Goal is to Ensure Our Students Conduct Research”

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy stated that their main goal is not just to increase the number of projects; “Our main goal is to ensure our students conduct research, encourage these researches to turn into scientific publications, and thus increase our university's visibility in national and international rankings. Because every accepted project, every research that turns into publications, further strengthens our university's scientific impact and reputation.

 

In short, we are progressing step by step together on the path to becoming a university that researches, produces, and publishes. This success belongs to all of us. Every academic and administrative staff member, every student has a contribution. I thank everyone who contributed and wish for our successes to continue increasing.” he stated.

 

Then TÜBİTAK Expert Dr. Emine Yalaz introduced the support programs offered by the institution to the participants and provided general information about the application processes.

 

In the two-day program; topics such as project cycle management, creating original value, goal setting, method planning, and budget preparation were discussed in detail. 

 

Academicians shared common mistakes made in projects and examples of successful applications with the participants.

In the workshop held at the end of the seminar, participants from different scientific fields came together to prepare project proposal drafts. The drafts were evaluated by trainers and developed with feedback.

 

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates and gifts to the participants.
